Delhi - Agra - Jaipur - Samode - Mandawa - Delhi

Day 01 - Arrival At Delhi

On arrival in Delhi, you will be received at the airport and taken to your hotel. At your hotel you will receive a traditional royal welcome. Women dressed in traditional costumes and musicians will welcome you with flower garlands and an aarti ceremony with lighted lamps. You will be greeted with a traditional red tikka, an auspicious sign in India, which anoints your forehead. Check into your hotel and relax.

 

Day 02 - Delhi
Take a tour of Delhi and see the Qutab Minar, India Gate, Laxmi Narayan Temple and Parliament House. In old Delhi you can visit Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat and the Red Fort, including its fascinating sound and light shows, before you return to your hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 03 - Delhi - Agra
Leave for Agra in the morning, On the way you can see the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Akbar at Sikandra. At your hotel "Chobedars" (gate keepers) welcome you inside, where hostesses in traditional Mughal costume receive you with flowers and "ittar" (perfume). Check in & relax after enjoying your lunch. In afternoon take a tour of Agra Fort and other Mughal monuments in Agra. Return to your hotel for a Magical Mughal Night. Guests are given traditional "Pagris" (turbans) and " Chunnis" (scarfs) to wear and are made to seat on the floor mattresses. Attendants dressed in traditional Mughal robes, serve Mughlai cuisine in silver "thalis" (platters) on "bajot" (low tables). Enjoy a meal in a traditional Mughal ambience. Stay overnight at your hotel.

Day 04 - Agra
Leave at dawn, to explore the beautiful Taj Mahal in the early morning light. Enjoy a rickshaw ride up to the Taj Mahal. After marveling at the beauty of the Taj Mahal, you leave for the market, where you can enjoy shopping for marble artifacts and handicraft items. Return to your hotel to rest. In the evening enjoy your dinner with a village fair theme. Traditional craftsmen display their skills at pottery, doll making, puppet making, and pichwai paintings, in a village setting. Snake charmers, acrobats, musicians and dancers add to the exotic setting. Stay overnight at your hotel.

Day 05 - Agra - Jaipur
In the morning you will leave for Jaipur. On the way stop at Fatehpur Sikri - a city with many grand monuments of red sandstone, built by Emperor Akbar. Here you can see the Tomb of Salim Chisti, the Jama Masjid and the Panch Mahal. You receive a Maharaja's welcome, on arriving at Jaipur. Camels, elephants, and musicians welcome you, in the lawns of your hotel. Women in traditional Rajasthani costume welcome you with aarti and tikka rituals, while the musicians perform in the background. Check into your hotel and relax. Later enjoy sightseeing and shopping in Jaipur. Return to your hotel and stay overnight.

Day 06 - Jaipur
Leave for Amer Fort in the morning. Enjoy the elephant ride up to the entrance to Amer Fort. In the afternoon take a tour of Jaipur city and see the Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar and markets of Jaipur. In the evening enjoy your dinner with a Rajput Wedding Theme. The guests are welcomed as the "baraati's" (the bridegroom's wedding party) and enjoy a sumptuous meal along with cultural performances. Stay overnight at your hotel.

Day 07 - Jaipur - Samode
Leave for Samode after your morning breakfast. As you enter Samode you will be welcomed by colorfully decorated camels. Enter Samode Palace on camel carts, accompanied by musicians. You will be welcomed at Samode Palace by village elders bearing garlands and flowers. Check into the hotel and relax. Later you can enjoy cocktails and a cultural performance at the Durbar Hall. Enjoy a royal dinner along with the musical dance performances. Stay overnight at your hotel.

Day 08 - Samode - Mandawa
Enjoy your free time by exploring the Samode Fort, and taking a camel ride or watching the rural way of life in the nearby village. Then leave for Mandawa. Check into your resort, where a traditional welcome awaits you. In the evening a barbeque, under the starry desert sky, with musicians playing desert melodies awaits you. Stay overnight at your hotel.

Day 09 - Mandawa - Delhi
In the morning leave for Mandawa by road. See the heritage sights and painted havelis, (old mansions) of Shekhawati. Drive on to Delhi and stay overnight in your hotel in Delhi.

Day 10 - Delhi
After breakfast enjoy shopping or sightseeing in Delhi. In the evening drive to farmhouse, where you can enjoy a grand farewell dinner. Leave for the international airport to catch your flight for your onward destination, at the end of your Maharaja Retreat Tour, from Jaipur Hub.
